12.8bit resolution (7141 grayscale)
on 3 Million-pixel monochrome LCD panel
A medical purpose 20.8inch monochrome LCD panel embeded the SGS(Super Gray Shading) Technology,
reproduces images
with 7141 grayscale resolution.
This is the world highest resolution in LCD monochrome displayer.

Spectratech, Inc.
Spectratech, Inc (President Mitsuo Ohashi), located Tokyo Japan, achieved 7141 gray scale resolution (12.8 bit equiv.)
display possible with the world highest performance, which had been considered to be impossible for monochrome LCD panel.
This technology complies with the IT project running at medical field, converting an X-ray film to a computer file.
A year ago, Spectratech released 20.1 inch SXGA LCD panel with 1786 grayscale resolution,
and the new model, this time, achieved the world highest resolution by adding new algorithm onto the current SGS technology.
In the market today, medical purpose monitors with 766, 1021, 1531, 1786 and 3061 grayscale resolutions are available.
New LCD panel not only a 7141 resolution, but great improvement made for fitting DICOM curve recommended in GSDF(Gray Scale Display Function),
a defact guide line for medical purpose TV monitors.
Spectratech's new 20.8 inch monochrome QXGA(2048 pix/line times 1536 lines)LCD panel
is realized with SGS(Super Gray Shading) Technology, a unique digital technology.
This panel provides 7141 grayscale resolution, 600:1(typ) contrast ratio and 600 cd/m2(typ) brightness.
This 3 million pixel LCD panel is developped under joint work with Data Ray Corporation, a Colorado based company,
and shortly merchandized as the DataRay's new model(Model PRECISION 3X, tentative).
Entire technique is adaptable to 5 and/or 9 million pixel LCD panel as well, and
is applicable to monitors for non-medical fields, such as non-destractive testing and electron microscope.
With expert members including medical researchers, semiconductor engineers,
graphics engineers and so on, Spectratech Inc is a venture business who has the high technology,
holds patents concerning medical equipments using frequency diffusion technology,
which make the company development, fabless manufacturing, and sale of the medical equipments.
Model PRECISION 3X(tentative) will be exhibited at ITEM2003 trade show starting on April 11 '03, in Yokohama, Japan.
